Chapter 80: Arrangements Made!
“The money is here. Give me Lu Zhengkun’s IOU. This debt is settled.”
Ling Qiu spoke calmly.
“Oh? Kid, are you trying to bargain with me?”
The man with the Mohawk smiled and slowly stood up, holding a glass of wine in one hand and a cigarette in the other, swaggering with an air of arrogance as he stared down at Ling Qiu.
Ling Qiu said, “Just a reminder—my patience is limited. I’m giving you face now; you’d better take it.”
Huh???
At these words, everyone was stunned for a moment.
Then, a burst of wild laughter erupted!
“Hahaha!!”
The Mohawk let out a raspy laugh. “Kid, you’ve got guts! I like that—come!”
He clapped his hands. “Take the money!”
A group of men hurried over, gathered the money, and quickly counted it.
“Boss! It’s definitely two hundred and fifty thousand, not a penny short!”
“Mm.”
The Mohawk nodded slightly, then looked at Ling Qiu. “I’m curious—who is this Lu Zhengkun to you?”
“He’s a loan shark!!”
Suddenly, Lu Zhengkun stepped forward. “I just borrowed some money from him! We’re not close!”
He turned his head and whispered to Ling Qiu, “Leave! Listen to me!!”
“Did I ask you?”
The Mohawk sneered darkly and continued to look at Ling Qiu. “I was asking you.”
“He’s my brother.”
Ling Qiu spoke slowly. “The kind you’d risk your life for.”
Hearing this, Lu Zhengkun was stunned. He looked at Ling Qiu, confused, but a surge of indescribable emotion welled up inside him.
“Brother?”
The Mohawk grinned. “Who knew, Lu Zhengkun, you penniless fool, actually have a wealthy friend.”
Ling Qiu said coldly, “I don’t want to hear your nonsense. In ten seconds, hand over the IOU.”
What the hell???
So arrogant?
The Mohawk’s face darkened. “Kid, sorry, I can’t give you the IOU. After all, you beat up a few of my boys earlier, and that debt hasn’t been settled yet.”
Ling Qiu smiled. “So what are you saying?”
“My meaning?”
The Mohawk sneered. “I’ll give you two choices. First, bring me another two hundred and fifty thousand, and the debt is cleared. Second… kneel on the ground and let my boys slap you for an hour. Your choice!”
Ling Qiu’s lips curled into a smile. “I choose the third option—beat you until you’re begging for mercy.”
What??
Everyone was stunned.
The next moment, Ling Qiu was already moving, his figure darting like lightning to the Mohawk’s side.
Bang!!!
A punch, thrown with tremendous force!
Ling Qiu appeared before the Mohawk like a thunderbolt, his fist striking like a pile driver—a pinpoint, explosive blow!
As his fist landed, there was a sharp crackling sound!
The sound of bones breaking!
“Aaargh!!!—”
The Mohawk let out a miserable scream, his body sent flying!
His chest was left with a sunken dent from Ling Qiu’s punch!
Crash!—
He crashed behind a glass cabinet, his body lacerated by shards of glass, blood instantly covering him.
“Boss!!”
The crowd cried out and rushed to the Mohawk’s side.
When they saw him, they nearly wet themselves from fright!
On the Mohawk’s chest…
A shocking indentation!
His ribs were badly broken and deformed!
Blood poured from his mouth; his body convulsed, and he groaned, half dead.
This scene…
Left Lu Zhengkun utterly dumbfounded!
He stared at Ling Qiu, at Ling Qiu’s back…
He thought he was hallucinating!
Because…
Ling Qiu had moved so fast!
Lu Zhengkun had never received professional training, but he was naturally tough, a fierce fighter with powerful moves. Thanks to his brawling skills, he’d made a minor name for himself in the underworld at a young age.
But…
Even as a self-proclaimed fighting expert…
He’d never seen anything as terrifying as Ling Qiu’s skills!
Click, click…
Ling Qiu strode step by step toward the Mohawk.
Everyone was on edge, grabbing pool cues and shouting, “How dare you lay a hand on our boss! Do you know who our boss is?!!”
“Our boss… is… ah!!”
Before they could finish, Ling Qiu grabbed a cue and swept it sideways!
Four or five men fell like bowling pins, knocked to the ground by Ling Qiu!
Crack, crack—
The sound of bones breaking echoed again and again!
Wherever Ling Qiu struck, arms and legs were fractured deep to the bone!
Bang!
Ling Qiu stood before the Mohawk, and with a fierce motion, stabbed the cue into the ground!
The floor was pierced by the force of his cue!
The cue stood upright, barely twenty centimeters from the Mohawk’s head!
“Ah ah…”
The Mohawk screamed again in terror, his crotch soaked. He thought Ling Qiu was about to impale his skull.
Ling Qiu towered above him, looking down coldly. “The IOU.”
“Hurry… hurry!!! Get… get the… the IOU…!!”
In unbearable pain, his face pale and flushed, the Mohawk forced out the words through gritted teeth.
A nearby underling jolted to attention and hurried to fetch the IOU.
Ling Qiu pulled it into his hand and checked—it was correct.
He glanced coolly at the Mohawk. “I know you’ll want revenge. I have a knack for stirring up trouble, so if you want payback, you’re welcome to find me. My name is Ling Qiu, and I’m a student at Jiangnan University.”
He paused, then added, “But let me warn you—if you want revenge, come directly for me. That way, I’ll repay you in kind and leave it at that. But if you dare to go after Lu Zhengkun or anyone else…”
As he spoke, Ling Qiu stomped hard on the Mohawk’s injured chest.
Crack, crack…
A dreadful sound rang out.
The Mohawk howled like a slaughtered pig.
“Then… it won’t be an eye for an eye—it’ll be a fate worse than death. Understand?”
Leaving these words behind, Ling Qiu turned and walked toward the stairs, hands in pockets.
Lu Zhengkun remained frozen in place, mouth agape, utterly shocked. He stared blankly at the ruined billiard hall, unable to collect himself.
Halfway down, Ling Qiu turned and laughed. “Still not leaving?—What, planning to play another round of pool?”
