Chapter 9: The Dowry of the Sugar Figurine Princess
Looking at the somewhat unreliable description in the attributes panel, Mo Jiang suddenly became curious about the Sugar Princess and wanted to meet her. “Attributes panel” was a name Mo Jiang had just improvised for this first panel, so he could distinguish between them.
Mo Jiang glanced down at himself. His clothes had been changed—though calling them clothes was generous; it was more like a bedsheet wrapped around him and tied in place. Unsurprisingly, the bone armor had been stripped from his “corpse” by the first puppet. Yet, this was only the first puppet, and the puppet monsters were already so powerful, completely overwhelming him in strength. He had no idea how to kill all six of them.
At this moment, the clay doll-like little girls led Mo Jiang to a spacious, strange “open-air plaza.” The plaza was filled with enormous plates and bowls. Suddenly, Mo Jiang realized this wasn’t a plaza at all—it was a dining table. The table legs were gone, and the whole table lay flat on the ground.
Ahead, a commotion erupted as a crowd approached. There were men and women, all resembling clay dolls, very short—barely reaching above his knees.
From their attire, Mo Jiang quickly identified the “Sugar King.” He bowed deeply. These people were so short that no form of greeting seemed appropriate, yet he felt compelled to adopt this posture. Since these “Sugar People” had developed into a kingdom, complete with institutions and order, it was another form of civilization.
“With such a level of civilization, perhaps they can help me kill the first puppet,” Mo Jiang thought.
The “Sugar King” was a short, rotund figure, exuding a rich creamy aroma, like a giant cream candy.
“Greetings, outsider. My subjects saw you the moment you arrived,” said the Sugar King, startling Mo Jiang.
“You are outstanding. Not very powerful, but you possess a strong bloodline. Death and resurrection—hmm, should I call your bloodline ability that?”
As the Sugar King spoke, his eyes shone brightly.
“Your Majesty is wise,” Mo Jiang replied vaguely.
“Haha, outsider, I wish to marry my daughter to you, so her descendants may inherit your bloodline ability. Will you accept?” The Sugar King waved his hand, giving Mo Jiang no time to consider. Immediately, a group of armored Sugar People arrived, carrying a head covered in stitching.
Mo Jiang was stunned.
At the same time, a familiar “ding” sounded in his mind.
He looked up—his attributes panel had changed; he had acquired a new attribute.
Reward: Congratulations on successfully using your charm. The Sugar Princess, to please you, convinced her father to send troops and kill the first puppet. The bone armor is recovered, along with a bone-handled axe, and a treasure from Lady Seven.
Mo Jiang saw a chest in his storage space, this time bronze, not wooden. As he glanced at it, information appeared in his mind:
Bronze Treasure Chest: All items inside are guaranteed to be of rare quality. Contains bone armor and bone-handled axe. Wearing them doubles your strength. From now on, defeating enemies above your level is no longer just a dream. Winning riches and beauty is within reach!
He instinctively ignored the less credible parts at the end, his eyes blazing. He was now at level one strength—wearing the armor would make him level two?
“But where is Lady Seven’s treasure?” Mo Jiang’s gaze shifted. He noticed the “explore” section in the attributes panel—the words “Heze Domain” had turned blood-red.
When he looked at it, information appeared in his mind:
Though you only passed through this place by accident while being carried away, it has been recorded for you. Lady Seven’s treasure lies here. However, the deeper you venture into Flower Castle, the closer you come to Lady Seven’s corpse, and the more bizarre and ominous things emerge. Only with the Sugar People’s protection could you reach this place. It is not advised to retrieve the treasure, as you cannot even defeat the first puppet!
Mo Jiang squinted. Suddenly, he realized the “Stone Gate” seemed to hold him in contempt.
And perhaps, the Stone Gate harbored some… resentment toward him?
Yet, since this mystical Stone Gate had chosen him, it shouldn’t be so. Unless… it was forced to pair with him!
But who could force the Stone Gate?
Suddenly, a graceful figure flashed across his mind. Before the Stone Gate appeared, this figure had knocked on his door.
But that was too absurd.
Mo Jiang shook his head, suppressed the thought, and dropped to one knee. “Thank you, Your Majesty. I accept.”
He had already lost five years of his lifespan and did not wish to lose another five.
“Good, haha! I hereby announce the princess’s wedding will be held today.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
With that command, an astonishing number of Sugar People appeared and began preparations. Mo Jiang had not even seen the Princess yet, but the wedding had already begun.
This was his second “wedding,” and the second bizarre world he had experienced.
He couldn’t help but examine the “proliferation” attribute, his expression growing odd. Would he truly have to father children in such a bizarre world?
Night soon fell. Mo Jiang and the Sugar Princess, her head covered in a red veil, were sent to the “new room.”
The “new room” was spacious, but peculiar. There were doors and windows, but the door was unusually large, resembling a hall more than a bedroom.
With this thought, Mo Jiang glanced at the map section of his attributes panel. As expected, the castle hall now appeared behind the castle kitchen. The explore section had not changed, indicating it was now considered part of the “Great Sugar Kingdom’s” territory.
Mo Jiang looked at the Sugar Princess quietly sitting on the bed. He felt no awkwardness, only curiosity. He reached out and lifted the red veil—and his eyes went wide.
He had expected a rosy, humanoid candy who could move and speak, like all the Sugar People he had seen.
But what did he see now?
White, very white, long and somewhat rectangular, filled with creamy aroma.
A… giant White Rabbit milk candy?
“Your Highness…” Mo Jiang called, hesitantly.
“Consort,” the White Rabbit milk candy replied sweetly, seeming both shy and delighted.
And so, that night, Mo Jiang did nothing.
Truly, nothing at all.
