Listening to the dead tone on the phone, Wang Yang glanced at his mobile, then smiled.

Liang Yuzhu was still just as she had always been. Whenever something like this happened, she became nervous and started placing absolute faith in him. Even if he told her to pack up and sell everything she owned immediately, then invest the money in a new venture, she would carry out his instructions without the slightest hesitation.

Temporarily putting those thoughts aside, Wang Yang sat in his chair and watched the F-22 fighter jet being surrounded by the crowd, everyone taking photographs with it.

As for the fact that everyone believed the two F-22s were merely models, he had no intention of explaining it—and could not be bothered to. There was no point.

As long as that rich young master was happy with the inspection and gladly paid the remaining balance, that was enough. The F-22 had already been sold; whatever happened afterward was no longer his concern.

Of course, he knew very well what consequences this matter might bring. How the authorities would handle it once they discovered what had happened was another question altogether.

But Wang Yang had already made his plans.

For now, all that remained was for the rich young master to come and inspect the aircraft.

He still held to the same belief: once that man arrived and saw an F-22 fighter jet sitting here, he would be unable to tear himself away. Perhaps he would even hand over the remaining payment on the spot.

“Brother Yang, come eat!”

At that moment, Jiang Liangliang entered from outside carrying two large bags of food. She set them heavily on the table and rubbed her small hands, which had been pinched by the handles.

Wang Yang rose and called out, “All right, everyone, eat first. There will be plenty of time for photos after the meal.”

…

The next day.

Wang Yang woke up in his rented apartment. After stretching contentedly, he went into the bathroom and washed up thoroughly.

In the nearly six months since this had begun, he had never felt as relaxed as he did today.

The F-22 had been restored, and one of the two aircraft had successfully been sold. In truth, when he saw the deposit come through, his eyes had practically lit up. He had merely kept his emotions under tight control and refrained from showing it.

Today, he could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He no longer had to worry about the F-22 fighter jets.

Moreover, once both F-22s were sold, he would receive a reward from the system.

He had no idea what that reward might be, but anything granted by the system could hardly be worthless. It might even be something of extraordinary value.

He had to admit—it felt incredible.

Sell two F-22s, get the money, and receive a system reward on top of that. No matter how he looked at it, he could only come out ahead.

The most important task now was finding another rich young master and getting him to purchase the remaining F-22 fighter jet.

Of course, Wang Yang knew that this sort of thing could not be rushed. Fortuitous encounters did not happen every day. He had simply been lucky the previous night and taken advantage of the opportunity to make the sale. If luck had been against him, that rich young master might have seen the comments on the livestream and fled.

There was no telling with things like this. But as long as the quality was good, the aircraft would definitely find a buyer.

After all, this F-22 fighter jet was a priceless commodity with no legitimate market. Elsewhere in the world, no matter how much money one offered, it was impossible to purchase one in a private capacity.

Small countries and hostile nations had even less chance of obtaining one.

Ring-ring.

The phone beside him lit up. Jiang Liangliang was calling.

He answered at once. “Hello?”

“Brother Yang, we’ve received the deposit from last night’s client! Fifty million—not a cent short.” Jiang Liangliang sounded rather excited.

That was only natural. Since joining the company, she had never seen so much money come in at once. Loans did not count, since those funds would be transferred away almost immediately.

Wang Yang rubbed his chin and narrowed his eyes. “Good. Has the client contacted you? When did he say he would come to inspect the aircraft?”

“I was just about to tell you, Brother Yang. The client said he’s on his way here. His plane lands at one this afternoon, and it should take about two hours to reach the warehouse,” Jiang Liangliang replied.

Wang Yang calculated the timing in his head. “So he’ll arrive around three this afternoon for the inspection?”

“Yes!”

“Now that’s efficiency. He paid the deposit last night and came to inspect the aircraft today. As expected of a rich man—his ability to act is impressive.” Wang Yang teased her. “All right, I understand. I’ll head to the warehouse shortly. Wait for me there. And prepare the contract. This rich young master might sign it on the spot and pay the remaining balance.”

“Got it! I’ll prepare everything right away, Brother Yang.”

After hanging up, Wang Yang finished washing up, changed into a sharply tailored suit at top speed, and left the apartment.

He needed to reach the warehouse as soon as possible to check on the two F-22s and inspect them for any potential problems. If something had gone wrong, he could still remedy it in time.

But if an issue were discovered during the inspection, the customer might use it as an excuse to refuse the purchase—or demand an even lower price.

Wang Yang absolutely would not allow that to happen.

After finally managing to sell one of the fighter jets, how could a problem possibly arise at the very last moment?

He got into his car and drove to the warehouse.

Jiang Liangliang had already been waiting there for quite some time.

“Brother Yang! I’ve prepared the contract. I also brought all the relevant qualification documents, the company seal, and everything else. As soon as the client confirms the purchase, we can sign the contract on the spot.” Jiang Liangliang took out a stack of documents and placed them on the table.

Wang Yang nodded. “Well done. Let’s try to get the contract signed today.”

“All right. Order something for me to eat. I’m going to carry out one final inspection of the fighter jet.”

With that, Wang Yang removed his suit jacket, walked over to one of the F-22s, and brought over a ladder. He then carefully examined the structure of the aircraft’s outer shell.

…

2:43 p.m.

Wang Yang sat in a chair, watching the time on his wristwatch.

Less than twenty minutes remained before the client’s expected arrival at around three.

At one o’clock, Jiang Liangliang had received word that the client had landed and was on his way.

It should not be long before he arrived at the warehouse.

An hour earlier, Wang Yang had conducted an almost comprehensive inspection of the entire F-22. Using a variety of precision instruments and carrying out countless calculations, he had confirmed that the fighter jet was in perfect condition and completely free of defects.

After seeing the results, he finally let go of the worry weighing on his heart. Now, all he had to do was wait for the client to arrive and inspect the aircraft.

He raised his head and silently gazed toward the only road leading to the warehouse.

A moment later, he saw a black Maybach turn off the broad avenue and head toward the warehouse.

“Brother Yang! That must be the client, right?” Jiang Liangliang looked excited, gripping the contract documents tightly in both hands.

Wang Yang nodded. “It should be. At this hour, there probably isn’t anyone else coming. Besides, it’s a Maybach—a genuine luxury car, the kind a boss would drive.”

Before long, the Maybach came roaring toward the warehouse, kicking up clouds of dust.

With a screech of brakes, the car stopped at the entrance. Wang Yang immediately stepped forward and stood by the warehouse door.

From the rear seat emerged a middle-aged man in a sharply pressed suit. He had a well-proportioned build, and a faint aura of steely resolve lingered between his brows and eyes as he stepped down from the vehicle.
