Volume One, Chapter 19: The Little One’s Devotion
The little darling had been trailing behind Siyen like a little shadow all day long.
“You promised yesterday that you would treat his wounds…” Su Yu hurried to catch up with him, reaching out to hook her arm around his wrist, her small face puffed up in frustration, her eyes filled with dissatisfaction and anxiety.
Not only did he forbid her from seeing Li Hanyan, but he also wouldn't even allow a doctor to go—he was plainly lying!
Siyen stopped in his tracks, turned around, and his tall, imposing figure loomed over her, almost enveloping her completely.
He raised an eyebrow, a playful tone in his voice: “How about this, sweetheart? You help me take a bath, and I’ll have someone go rescue him.”
“You promised yesterday!”
Su Yu was so annoyed by his shameless demand that her voice rose a few octaves; she forcefully shook off his hand, her eyes slightly reddening. “You can’t go back on your word!”
“When did I ever promise you?”
Suddenly, Siyen wrapped his arms around her from behind, warm breath brushing against her ear, laced with a lazy, roguish charm.
“Last night…” Su Yu replied instinctively, her voice still carrying the sting of unresolved grievance.
“Oh?”
Siyen chuckled lowly, gently biting her earlobe with a mischievous yet teasing tone. “Then you should be looking for last night’s me because today’s me never agreed.”
Su Yu froze instantly, and when she finally registered what he meant, her entire body trembled with anger—
He was clearly playing word games, deliberately shirking responsibility!
Yet, this twisted logic came out so convincingly that she was momentarily speechless, clutching her fists tightly as her back pressed against his solid chest.
“You scoundrel!”
Frustrated and desperate, Su Yu suddenly lifted her foot and stomped fiercely on Siyen’s shoe, with the force as if trying to crush the sole through.
Siyen was unfazed, as if gaining another “scoundrel” insult didn’t matter to him at all.
He grabbed her wrist with the other hand, pulled it to his lips, and kissed it softly, his tone suddenly softening as he began to play the victim: “Sweetheart, this injury was caused by your stab.”
“It even split open yesterday. Moving hurts like hell; I definitely can’t bathe myself.”
He looked at her with a coaxing glint in his eyes, “You help me wash, and I’ll immediately send someone to save him.”
Su Yu eyed him suspiciously, furrowing her brows tightly, half-believing, half-doubting as she turned her face away. “I won’t. You’ll lie to me again!”
Later, he’d say he’d find the Siyen from an hour ago to fulfill his promise!
“Not lying to you, sweetheart.”
Siyen quickly shook his head, his gaze extraordinarily sincere. “You help me wash, and once we’re done, we’ll go see Li Hanyan together. I’m keeping my word.”
Before Su Yu could respond, he had already pulled her into the bathroom.
He tossed her a towel and took her hand, guiding it to his belt.
“Undo this, help me bathe.”
Su Yu’s face flushed as she was about to refuse, but the man gripped her tighter.
“Sweetheart, if you don’t hurry, I’ll hold you down and kiss you—I wouldn’t be able to get off the bed!”
Su Yu’s heart skipped a beat; she could only obey.
Her small hands unbuckled his belt—this was the first time she had undone this.
Before, he would take off his pants along with the belt before even getting into bed.
With a click, the belt fell to the floor, clothes rustling lightly as they dropped.
Siyen had already stepped into the bathtub, lounging like an old gentleman awaiting his service.
Su Yu sat by the edge of the tub, carefully wiping his body.
Her fingertips brushed against his skin, and his warmth made her heart flutter.
She deliberately avoided sensitive areas.
Siyen seemed to notice her hesitation; as she was about to continue scrubbing his back, he grabbed her wrist.
The man pulled her small hand to his lips, placing a wet, unrestrainedly aggressive kiss there, his fingertips tracing her skin with a hint of lewdness.
“Sweetheart, at this pace, we’ll be washing until tomorrow, and Li Hanyan will be stone cold,” he said, raising an eyebrow as he pressed her.
Before she could react, he suddenly yanked her into the water-filled tub, splashing water onto his face.
Leaning close, his wild face wore a roguish grin, his voice dropping into a husky whisper, laced with blatant innuendo: “That thing, you’re not unfamiliar with it, are you?”
“You should know best, right?”
Siyen’s smile was devilish.
He gazed down at the blushing little darling in his arms; teasing her was the most fun.
“Have your previous women never experienced it?”
Su Yu pushed him away forcefully, sitting up in the water. Her drenched clothes clung tightly to her body, making her frown involuntarily.
She looked up at Siyen, her tone tinged with sarcasm.
For a prominent family like theirs, a chaotic private life was an open secret—
She had even heard that children of noble families often had women around them by the age of nine; this was common in their circles.
Especially concerning the Germain family, rumors were rife: “The previous head had four wives, and you have two younger brothers still in high school, don’t you?”
The implication was clear: women were never lacking by his side, so why cling to her?
Siyen narrowed his dark, inscrutable eyes as he looked at Su Yu.
He always got what he wanted and ensured those people stayed by his side.
The man stood up from the bathtub; Su Yu hurriedly turned her back to him.
He… he was such a rogue.
Siyen wrapped a towel around his waist, bent down, and scooped Su Yu up horizontally, placing her back into the tub.
“Sweetheart, I don’t care about others, but from beginning to end, there’s only you.”
He looked at her, his gaze darkening, his tone resolute and unyielding.
“The love I give cannot tolerate even the slightest betrayal!”
He would never be like the previous head, with three wives and four concubines.
He only wanted Su Yu; other women disgusted him to the core!
No sooner had he spoken than he roughly tore the wet clothes clinging to Su Yu.
The ripping sound of fabric was sharp in the bathroom as he started washing her, though his movements were hardly gentle.
“I—I don’t need you to wash me!” Su Yu hurriedly covered herself, her cheeks burning crimson.
“But every time after we go to bed, it’s me who helps you wash,” Siyen said with an innocent look, as if recounting the most ordinary fact.
Su Yu’s face turned as red as a cooked shrimp, her voice barely a whisper: “That’s because I passed out… now that I’m awake, I don’t need you to wash me.”
“Sweetheart helps me wash; it’s only fair I help you too.”
Siyen said this without stopping his actions, his tone carrying an undeniable insistence.
Su Yu felt helpless—there was no such thing as fairness like this!
Fortunately, Siyen was only washing her simply, aside from teasing her a little—
There was nothing more.
Wrapped in a towel, she left the bathroom after the bath.
She immediately insisted on going to see Li Hanyan, and Siyen had no choice but to take her there.
