Volume One, Chapter 20: Kissing Her Right in Front of Li Hanyan
The dungeon was thick with the heavy stench of blood. Li Hanyan was tightly bound to a cold iron chair, his clothes soaked in dark crimson blood that dripped down the legs of the chair, pooling into a dull, dark stain on the floor.
Siyan carried Su Yu as he stepped into the dungeon. Before he even reached the cell, Su Yu struggled anxiously, desperate to get down.
The man’s eyes darkened abruptly; he tightened his grip on her arms, his tone dripping with disdain. “Baby, he’s just a useless fool. Not only can he not save you, but he’s also trapped here himself.”
He glanced down at the pale-faced girl in his arms, his voice laced with threat: “Only you have a soft heart. If it were anyone else, I would’ve killed him long ago.”
But Su Yu didn’t hear him. Her gaze locked firmly on Li Hanyan inside the cell.
His wounds had clearly been tended to, wrapped thickly in bandages, yet his face was still pale as paper—his injuries were severe.
Siyan felt something was wrong with himself. After all, Li Hanyan was the one who had come to abduct his little darling.
Yet here he was, allowing his little darling to have him treated.
Suddenly, Su Yu jumped out of Siyan’s arms, staggering a few steps to the edge of the cell, gripping the cold iron bars tightly. “Brother Hanyan, wake up!”
Inside the cell, Li Hanyan’s eyelids fluttered slightly. He struggled to open his eyes and looked toward her. As his gaze swept across the delicate skin of her neck, his pupils suddenly contracted—
The young girl’s pale neck was covered in dense, red marks, like a series of glaring brands, silently revealing the man’s nearly maddened possessiveness.
“Brother Hanyan, I will definitely get you out of here…” Before Su Yu could finish, Siyan leaned in from behind.
His large hand suddenly grasped her chin with an irresistible force, pulling her into a fierce kiss.
“Ugh…” Su Yu was caught off guard, struggling desperately, her heart pounding with both urgency and shame—
How could he do this to her right in front of Brother Hanyan!
“Siyan, let her go!” Li Hanyan struggled to rise, the chains scraping painfully against his skin, anger thick in his voice.
Siyan leisurely released Su Yu’s lips, his brow arching slightly, but his eyes gleamed with undisguised delight.
Watching Su Yu cover her mouth, her eyes reddened, he taunted, “Baby, we were already having so much fun in bed, why shy away from a kiss?”
He was declaring to Li Hanyan: he had kissed her.
He had slept with her—and it had been perfectly harmonious.
All on his own terms.
“You perverted freak!” Su Yu glared at him furiously, her chest heaving with anger. The kiss burned like a branding iron on her lips, leaving her both ashamed and enraged.
She rubbed her mouth fiercely, wishing she could run away and wash her lips immediately!
Siyan paid no mind to her curses; on the contrary, he found her flustered state amusing.
The little bitter melon couldn’t curse properly, and he even felt that when his little darling cursed him, it was a kind of blessing.
The man reached to touch her cheek, only to be slapped away sharply by Su Yu.
Siyan pulled her tightly into his arms, his gaze provocatively fixed on Li Hanyan in the cell. A playful smile curled at the corner of his lips. “I’ll definitely invite you to our wedding.”
“You’ll come as my little darling’s brother. By then, I’ll bring grandpa over too.”
He paused, then his eyes sharpened, flashing with dangerous light as he looked at Li Hanyan. “Don’t worry. After the wedding, I’ll make sure you leave ‘safe and sound.’”
The threatening tone was like a poisoned icicle, chilling to the bone.
“I never said I’d marry you!”
Su Yu suddenly covered his mouth, her voice trembling with fury. “I won’t marry you. Not even if I die!”
She struggled fiercely, unwilling to let such ridiculous words escape his mouth, and even less wanting Li Hanyan to witness such humiliation.
This man was used to talking to himself; she had never agreed to any of this.
Even if forced on her, she would rather die than marry someone like him!
“Don’t be ridiculous. Little darling already agreed to it last night in bed!” Siyan pressed down on her struggling shoulders, his tone firm and unyielding.
“I never said that! You’re crazy—stop spouting nonsense here!” Su Yu trembled with anger and grief, her eyes reddened.
He was once again fabricating lies, humiliating her in this despicable way.
Siyan ignored her protests and turned his attention back to the cell where Li Hanyan’s face had turned ashen. A cruel smile played on his lips. “Don’t forget to prepare a wedding gift.”
His words were casual, yet they struck like a sharp needle, piercing both men present.
Two lovers, yet they didn’t look like it.
Both were suffering from unrequited love for Su Yu.
