Chapter 129: Creating a Disturbance in the Street
The security guard led the two girls to a relatively upscale building. A short, stout man looked the girls over carefully, then pointed at the girl Jiang Fan did not recognize and whispered a few words to the guard.
Once the two men finished whispering, the guard glared at Xique with annoyance and waved his hand, signaling her to return on her own, before letting the other girl follow the stout man upstairs.
Seeing the lecherous look in the stout man’s eyes, Jiang Fan suspected that he and the guard were up to no good. He caught up with Xique, who had just left the rental building and was about to cross the highway back to the factory.
Learning from Xique that the security guard was San Gouzi, Jiang Fan was shocked and immediately called for Chun Geng to hurry and apprehend him...
"Fine." After a nod, Sabo waved to the people in the room and then left.
Luffy, Robin, Franky, Law, Smoker, and Tashigi were all bound by Seastone chains and placed inside an iron cage. At each of the four corners above the cage, chains connected to a gear on the ceiling.
They approached Mr. Wang with fury, their eyes filled with such intense glare that they looked ready to drink his blood and eat his flesh.
"Namo Amitabha!" Tang Seng sat cross-legged on the ground, tossed his monk's staff into the air, and put his palms together, intending to end his own life; however, he had thrown the staff with too much force, causing it to miss its mark.
Throughout it all, he showed no signs of extreme emotion; besides, there was no need to put on an act in front of Lin Fei.
At the edge of Wang Zhen’s vision, the man supporting A-Xiang finally crumbled under the pressure. As the zombie lunged forward with another low growl, he screamed, shook off A-Xiang’s hand from his shoulder, and scrambled away in a frantic, stumbling run.
Wang Zhen raised his hands and looked at the blood flowing over them. He knew this was all his own doing; his arrogance had led to this situation. He had always believed that with the League of Heroes, he could accomplish anything, but he had never considered that he was ultimately just an ordinary person unable to awaken any power.
She wore a satin-blue traditional robe, her long, dark hair dancing in the void. She was ethereal, beautiful, and peerless in her grace.
However, the danger was far from over, for the sun was no longer calm. It was undergoing violent activity, with rapidly developing bright flares suddenly appearing on its surface.
Since the beginning of spring, there hadn't been such a beautiful day. Lin raised a hand to shade his eyes and gazed at the azure sky dotted with wisps of thin clouds, feeling a sense of relief he hadn't experienced in a long time.
An Hongdou and the others, who had luckily passed the Zen and Martial arts trials, heard the melodious bell tolling and saw the figure of the yellow-robed monk standing before the Bell and Drum Tower.
Watching Li Qing fall asleep, He Chuan was momentarily stunned before offering a helpless smile. It seemed there would be more troublesome matters to deal with tonight.
The middle-aged man suddenly realized what he needed to do. With these flying magical beasts, his confidence in catching up to the target increased significantly, so they split up onto the Sky-Splitting Dragon Hawks and gave chase once more.
The young people of this generation might flourish, they might perish early, or they might become the pillars of the world and make a name for themselves across the two realms, but they would ultimately never compare to the glory of the previous generation.
"Meili, what are you doing? We’re just a group of close classmates getting together. Why did you invite an outsider? Besides, I don't even know this person," Zhang Lin scolded Li Meili shyly.
He asked with an earnest expression, but Zhang Tian still did not answer. Who knew if this person was just trying to distract him with conversation? Since his combat experience was lacking, he would rely on stillness to counter any movement. Let him talk all he wanted; he would only focus on his defense.
If things truly reached that point, Wang Haisheng really didn't know how he would face the people at the police station, or if he would eventually be punished for such matters, perhaps even facing solitary confinement.
Qin Zhao did not stand on ceremony with them. After walking into the lobby, he found a seat directly. The scene was like a business negotiation between two companies; the atmosphere was not as tense as one might imagine. The moment Qin Zhao sat down, the guy from earlier spoke up again, showering him with flattery.
The Liancheng Code is as sacred as the heavens in the East. Among the countless believers of the Eight Hundred Sects, who would dare show such disrespect to the Holy Master? In other words, if there were no hope of seizing the holy position, neither the Dragon Star nor the Demon Star would allow his existence; the end would likely be erasure from the world. With his life hanging by a thread, why would he care about the severity of the rules and punishments of the Eight Hundred Sects?
