Chapter 60: How Did the Weak Spot Shift?
Wang Wenyu listened to Jiang Fan’s explanation about the side thigh, still feeling confused and lost in a fog. She touched Jiang Fan’s waist and asked, “Isn’t the weak spot here? How did it end up down below?”
Her innocence made Jiang Fan burst into hearty laughter.
After laughing, Jiang Fan leaned close to her ear and teased, “You’re talking about the anatomical weak spot. As for the one down below, let’s research it together tonight, under the covers.”
“You rascal, always bullying me!”
Seeing Jiang Fan’s mischievous grin, Wang Wenyu finally realized what was going on. She clenched her fist, but remembering Jiang Fan’s injuries, she couldn’t bring herself to hit him.
Jiang Fan took her little fist in his palm and teased, “There’s only one kind of man guaranteed not to be bad.”
“What kind of man?”
“A eunuch. Even if he wanted to be bad, he doesn’t have the parts, so he’s absolutely guaranteed not to be bad.” Anticipating Wang Wenyu might pinch him again, Jiang Fan took a precautionary step back.
Having been teased again, Wang Wenyu feigned anger, grinding her teeth. “Tonight, I’ll turn you into a eunuch.”
“If I become a eunuch, how will you be happy?” Jiang Fan continued his teasing, triumphant.
Wang Wenyu’s first requirement when renting a place was a kitchen, so she could make bone broth for Jiang Fan every day. After searching for over two hours, none of the single rooms had kitchens, and the rent for two-bedroom apartments was too expensive.
They settled for a compromise, renting a single room near the middle of the commercial street with a balcony and a bathroom. They could set up a small table to cook on the balcony. The rent was a hundred and fifty yuan a month, with a deposit equal to one month’s rent.
Jiang Fan’s eyes followed the three large bills as they passed from Wang Wenyu’s hand to the landlord’s.
Seeing Jiang Fan’s pained expression, Wang Wenyu remembered how Hao Meng had mentioned that buying things for Jiang Fan was almost like forcing him to accept them.
Lately, when she spent money, she noticed his reluctance, but he never refused verbally. Wang Wenyu started digging up old grievances, saying, “Mengmeng said spending money on you is like taking your life—you keep complaining. Why haven’t you complained in the last couple days?”
Jiang Fan stared at the landlord’s departing figure. “One’s a friend, the other’s a wife. How could they be the same?”
“How are they different?”
“Spending a friend’s money, even if you pay it back, you owe them a favor. If a couple keeps dividing things between ‘yours and mine,’ then what’s the point of being together? The man should take the main responsibility for earning money.”
After hearing his explanation, Wang Wenyu felt completely at ease about her earlier complaints. She collapsed into his arms, gently hugging his waist. “Bad man, let’s work hard together.”
“Do we have a choice? The dismissal notice has probably already reached our village. I can’t imagine how sad my mother, sister, and little sister will be when they see it.
And my father, already so old, delivering coal briquettes from street to street every day, still loving his drink. If he falls ill, there’s no one to care for him.”
As he spoke, the tears Jiang Fan had been holding back slipped down his face and fell to the floor.
Seeing him lost in sorrow again, Wang Wenyu indulgently took his hand and placed it on her soft chest, not voluptuous but pleasingly shaped. “Don’t think too much. Play with your toy for a while, and your mood will improve.”
Jiang Fan gave a playful squeeze and tried to console himself. “Who knows if losing my job isn’t a blessing in disguise? At least I’ve got a wonderful wife out of it.”
Wang Wenyu’s affectionate arrogance made Jiang Fan forget his troubles, his hormones surging. He hugged Wang Wenyu tightly with one arm, his mouth dry, his body responding noticeably.
When it came to matters of love, Wang Wenyu, experiencing her first romance, was certainly no match for Hao Meng’s experience.
As Jiang Fan pressed close to her, Wang Wenyu felt something poking her abdomen. Innocently, she thought it was his belt buckle and reached to move it aside, only to discover it was Jiang Fan’s manhood.
She quickly withdrew her hand, slapped Jiang Fan’s chest, and scolded, “Why didn’t you warn me?”
Seeing her blushing, Jiang Fan shamelessly grinned. “For your lifelong happiness, I thought you should check the parts in advance. It’s being responsible, so why are you blaming me?”
Human curiosity for the unknown is innate. Though Wang Wenyu complained aloud, her heart was intrigued by what had just pressed against her abdomen, eager for another exploration.
But a woman’s restraint prevailed. Hearing Jiang Fan’s suggestive words, she replied with a hint of playfulness, “You scoundrel, you always fool me with your ridiculous lies.”
Jiang Fan sensed her response, grew bolder, and pulled her hand again, whispering, “This is a major life event. You didn’t check properly before, so let’s do a thorough inspection now.”
Curiosity and longing overcame her, and Wang Wenyu forgot to refuse. She let Jiang Fan guide her hand again, cooperating, her cheeks growing even redder.
Jiang Fan pressed close to her ear, chuckling quietly, “My wife is so obedient.”
Seeing Jiang Fan’s satisfied, mischievous smile, Wang Wenyu snapped back to herself, embarrassed. Covering her face, she ran toward the door. “I’ll never fall for your tricks again! Tonight, you’re sleeping here alone.”
Jiang Fan chased after her, but his wounds began to ache and he had to stop. He saw Wang Wenyu already running down the street below.
He hurried downstairs, but didn’t see her, and thought she’d really left in anger. Anxious, he rushed toward where Wang Wenyu had parked.
Wang Wenyu, hiding in the Huifeng Restaurant across from their rental, watched Jiang Fan’s anxious search. She followed him silently, wanting to see just how worried he’d be for her. After only a couple minutes, concern for Jiang Fan’s injuries got the better of her, and she called out to him.
When Jiang Fan saw Wang Wenyu standing behind him, he swept her into his arms, sincerity overflowing. “I was afraid you’d left me.”
From the way Jiang Fan held her tight, Wang Wenyu felt his deep love and embraced him in return.
Before they had parted, Jiang Fan’s eyes caught sight of Ah Ping, who didn’t have time to hide.
Puzzled, Jiang Fan released Wang Wenyu and walked over to Ah Ping. “Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be at work?”
Ah Ping glanced at Wang Wenyu, then considered her words. “Boss Chen is still at the security team drinking free tea. Could I ask this lovely lady beside you not to pursue the matter any further?”
Jiang Fan was taken aback by Ah Ping’s stiff tone. “I didn’t offend you, did I? Why are you being so distant?”
A woman’s intuition is sharp. From Ah Ping’s glance, Wang Wenyu guessed she had feelings for Jiang Fan. She stepped forward and greeted her, “Hello, beautiful. I’m Wang Wenyu, Jiang Fan’s girlfriend. You’re his colleague, right?”
When it comes to matters of the heart, women take things seriously. Wang Wenyu’s initiative was both a subtle assertion of her claim and a desire to blend into Jiang Fan’s circle.
Ah Ping, having thought Wang Wenyu was a petty person after the Chen Anlong incident, didn’t expect her to be so friendly.
Ah Ping politely shook her hand, making a double-edged joke, “I didn’t expect Deputy Manager Jiang to be already claimed. With you here, how dare I accept the title of ‘beauty’? Just call me Ah Ping from now on.”
