Chapter 110: Reunion

Speaking of which, Qin Yu gazed at the man before her—strange, yet intimately familiar—and her tears flowed uncontrollably. She tried many times to suppress them, yet always failed.
Qing Li, seeing Qin Yu’s constant tears, was filled with tender sorrow. He walked step by step toward her, a warm smile curling at his lips. “Yu’er, it’s been so long. I’ve missed you so much.”
Qin Yu stared blankly at the man for a long moment before finally asking, uncertainly, “Li Li, is it really you?”
Qing Li brushed a tear from her cheek with his thumb, then gently tasted it, frowning. “It’s bitter.”
Qin Yu’s dazed expression remained. Unable to bear the sight, Qing Li reached out and drew her into his embrace. “Yu’er’s tears are bitter. It pains me deeply.”
Qin Yu buried her head in Qing Li’s chest, feeling an unprecedented sense of safety wash over her. All the unease that had haunted her was soothed in that moment. Gradually, she fell asleep in Qing Li’s arms.
Qing Li waited a long time without hearing a reply from his Yu’er. When he looked down, he realized she had fallen asleep. He was caught between laughter and tears.
He had finally seen Yu’er again and wanted to whisper sweet nothings, to fully express his longing for her, but unexpectedly his heroine had fallen asleep. His solo performance could go no further.
Still, if she could sleep so easily, Yu’er must have suffered greatly these past days.
With this thought, Qing Li carefully lifted Qin Yu into his arms, asked the stunned Zhao Meng where her room was, and carried Qin Yu into the villa.
He paid no mind to the expressions of those behind him.
Xue Qi, who had followed Qing Li, twisted his stiff neck, looking thoroughly shocked. “Th-that’s our boss? Are you sure he’s not possessed by something strange?”
The person next to him shot him a glare, clearly unwilling to answer such a foolish question.
Feng Ji commented, “Do you really think anything strange could possess our boss?”
Xue Qi seemed to recall something, shaking his head in terror. “So you’re telling me, that deeply affectionate, gentle, warm-smiling man really is our ruthless, merciless, cold-blooded, domineering boss? Heaven help us, the world has turned upside down!”

“Idiot, look at who the boss is facing—it’s his wife! Haven’t you seen how he treasures that half jade pendant? It’s not so strange when you think about it, dummy!” someone remarked.
Xue Qi considered this and found it made sense, but seeing the boss so gentle, why did he feel even more terrified? He rubbed his arms, shivering involuntarily.
The others watched with contempt, but deep inside, they all knew: seeing the boss this gentle made them even more afraid!
Meanwhile, Zhao Meng and the others were equally stunned.
Zhao Meng tugged at Xia Cheng’s sleeve. “Pinch yourself and see if you’re dreaming. Xiao Yu actually cried! And she let a man hold her without resistance!”
Xia Cheng sighed, lifting Zhao Meng’s hand. “No dream. It’s real. Our Qin Yu actually shed tears and let a man hold her.”
Zhao Meng, still in shock, exclaimed, “Heavens, Xia Cheng, Xiao Yu cried! I’ve known her for over a decade—she’s never cried, no matter the pain or hardship. She’d only frown at most. This is the first time I’ve seen her cry! Oh no, such a golden opportunity and I didn’t capture it for future teasing! Why didn’t I have my phone or a camera? I should have snatched a camera when I had the chance!”
Xia Cheng looked at Zhao Meng’s wandering thoughts with helplessness. Across from them, the group of whispering men caught his eye; a shadow flickered within. It seemed that man was very important to Qin Yu, and he seemed formidable. With this, Qin Yu’s goal should soon be within reach.
Nangong Yao, upon seeing the man, trembled uncontrollably, his eyes filled with fear. That man was terrifying—the most frightening person he had ever met, bar none.
Thankfully, he was a friend, not a foe. Moreover, it appeared he possessed the other half of the jade pendant. If so...
Wang Bing and his companions wore expressions of utter disbelief, unable to recover for a long time.
In short, outside the villa was a tableau of stupefaction, while Qing Li steadily carried Qin Yu, found her room with precision, kissed her forehead, and, deeply satisfied, drifted into sleep beside his Yu’er.
The sleeping pair were unaware that a light and a shadow radiated from their bodies, intertwining and merging until the brightness filled the entire room, then gradually returned to their bodies.
The two on the bed nestled close, their faces serene. Occasionally, the wind lifted their hair, twisting it together—a truly beautiful scene.
Elsewhere in the base, Fu Xin was listening to his subordinate’s report.

“Master! Lord Qing Li took several trusted aides to a villa. We don’t know what they’re doing. They’re too cautious—we didn’t dare get close,” someone reported.
“I see. You may go,” Fu Xin waved him off.
“Yes!” The man exited.
Fu Xin gazed at a photograph on his desk. In it were two children—a boy and a girl. The girl lay against the boy’s chest, smiling sweetly, while the boy held her with utter fondness.
Fu Xin’s eyes brimmed with nostalgia. He sighed softly, “They’ve finally found each other. I wonder if this is a blessing or a curse.”
If Zhao Meng were here, she would surely recognize the girl in the photo as the young Qin Yu! And the boy—Qing Li.
Elsewhere, Tao and a man in black faced off.
“They’ve met,” the man in black said.
“Mmm,” Tao replied coldly.
“Haha! Soon, very soon! My plan is about to succeed! Haha!” The man in black was nearly deranged.
Tao watched him, worry flickering in her eyes. She lowered her head, hiding her expression.
Lost in his fantasies, the man in black failed to notice Tao’s tightly clenched fists.
Meanwhile, Qin Yu and Qing Li, deep in slumber, were unaware that the apocalypse was slowly revealing its true face. Ahead awaited greater dangers, but also greater opportunities.
