Chapter 126: The Oath

Nangong Yao nodded and said, “When I first saw you, I found it strange. You clearly bore the appearance of death, yet you contained boundless vitality. Later, after drinking your supernatural water, I could barely confirm that you were indeed the legendary Spirit of Life. But—” Nangong Yao hesitated.
“But what?” Qin Yu asked.
“But your energy is too faint. If I hadn’t once heard someone mention the traits of the Spirit of Life, I wouldn’t have dared to make such a guess,” Nangong Yao explained.
Hearing this, Qin Yu felt a bit nervous. The so-called appearance of death must mean she was supposed to be dead originally. If not for rebirth, she wouldn’t be standing here now. Thinking along those lines, perhaps in her previous life she wasn’t truly a Spirit of Life; instead, one might have taken refuge within her for some reason, causing her to be reborn.
Various conjectures flashed through Qin Yu’s mind, and her expression became deeply conflicted.
On the other side, Nangong Yao stopped and looked at Qin Yu, only to be glared at sharply by Qing Li, who made him withdraw his gaze. Nangong Yao rubbed his nose and said, “Qin Yu, stop overthinking it; saving the person in front of you is what matters!”
Shi, upon hearing this, no longer cared about the Five Elements Spirits or anything else and quickly said, “Miss Qin, as long as you can save her, I am willing to serve you! I will never betray you!”
Only then did Qin Yu regain her senses. This was hardly the time for discussions like these. She said, “I want to save her too, but to be honest, I have no idea how. If Nangong Yao hadn’t said I was a Spirit of Life, I wouldn’t even know. So—”
She didn’t finish the sentence, as everyone understood perfectly well.
Shi looked at her helplessly, his fingers trembling slightly. If even Qin Yu couldn’t save her, then... Shi turned his head and stared blankly at the female zombie, his eyes welling with something unshed. All the coldness and harshness were just a facade hiding his lack of empathy. The person he cared about had become irretrievable, and so had he...
Lowering his head, Shi placed his left hand over his right and rubbed them unconsciously. Then, with his distinctive hoarse voice, he said, “If that’s the case, then please all of you leave. I won’t see you out.”
“No! If this continues, she will become more and more dangerous. Then it will be bad for you!” Nangong Yao said.
“Ha, what does it matter?” Shi sneered.
“You—” Nangong Yao nearly lost his breath. How could this guy say such things!

“I know how to save her,” Qing Li suddenly spoke.
“What?” The three of them looked at Qing Li in unison, full of doubt.
“I know the way to save her,” Qing Li patiently repeated.
“Really? Then tell me quickly!” Shi said impatiently.
Qing Li cast a faint glance and then looked at Qin Yu with a gentle smile. “Yu’er, it all depends on you. After all, you have the power to bring the dead back to life.”
Qin Yu stared blankly. “Me?”
A gleam flickered in Qing Li’s eyes, tinged with a hint of allure. He spoke slowly, “Yes, Yu’er, it’s you.”
“How do I do it?” Qin Yu asked seriously.
Qing Li’s smile grew even gentler, losing its previous seductive edge. His eyes deepened as he said, “Yu’er, you just need to use your supernatural ability on her, then drip a drop of your own heart’s blood. Let the power cleanse her body, then mix your heart’s blood with some water and have her drink it.”
“Just that simple?” Qin Yu asked in surprise.
“Foolish Yu’er, do you think heart’s blood is so easy to give? It takes two drops in total, which will cost you the energy you’ve accumulated. I’m afraid your supernatural power level will drop by one grade. So, do you still want to save her?” Qing Li said, patting Qin Yu’s head.
Qin Yu smiled broadly at Qing Li and said, “What does it matter? My power level is only at stage two anyway! Dropping one level isn’t a big deal. Besides, before it was because you weren’t by my side. Now that you are here, I’m not afraid of any demons or monsters!”
“Hm, I will protect you completely,” Qing Li promised. Then he turned to Shi and said, “Our Yu’er has made such a sacrifice to save your woman. Don’t you think you owe her something?”
Shi hurriedly said, “As long as she can be restored, I will work like a beast, swear absolute loyalty, and never betray!”

“Words alone are useless; you must show some real action!” Qing Li smiled.
Shi looked at Qing Li with complicated eyes, then hardened his heart, cut his finger with a dagger, and let the blood drop onto a piece of sheepskin that seemed to appear from nowhere. Chanting quietly, “I, Ouyang Jue, swear by my life that if Qin Yu can restore Murong Yi, I will swear absolute loyalty and never betray!”
As soon as the words fell, strange patterns appeared on the sheepskin, and a red light flickered past.
Nangong Yao nearby gaped in astonishment. Damn, this guy supposedly had amnesia! Yet he remembered his own name? And even recalled this ancient oath ritual? This guy must be faking amnesia! Faking it! How dare he lie to me! Damn it, just wait! Nangong Yao thought bitterly.
What he didn’t know was that Shi only knew his name because the Drought Demon—Murong Yi—had told him. Shi always thought names were just labels, so he never corrected others calling him Shi. If anyone was to blame, it was the Falcon Squad for misunderstanding him at the start.
As for the oath ritual, it was merely an instinct. Although he forgot much, at critical moments his body always made the right decisions.
Ouyang Jue never expected this would cause Nangong Yao to harbor a grudge afterward.
Returning to the matter at hand, Qing Li looked at Ouyang Jue, who had completed the oath, and nodded in satisfaction. Then he said to Qin Yu, “Yu’er, follow what I just told you. I’ll help you; you just need to do your part.”
Qin Yu nodded and stepped forward until she was about a meter from Murong Yi. Murong Yi, who had been dazed before, sensed the hostile aura immediately and snarled fiercely, growling nonstop.
Ouyang Jue hurried over to comfort her, but it could not change the dark entity’s innate hatred of vitality. Even though Murong Yi was now the Drought Demon, she still instinctively attacked. Let alone the fact she was a mindless fusion of Drought Demon and zombie.
Qin Yu knew Qing Li was protecting her and was not afraid of Murong Yi’s reaction. She waved her hand, unleashing her supernatural power while drawing a drop of her heart’s blood. The two mixed and rushed toward Murong Yi...
