Qin Yu stirred her aching body, a profound sense of contentment filling her heart. Nestled in Qing Li’s embrace, a faint smile curved upon her lips. Qing Li looked at the smiling Qin Yu and gently rubbed her nose, asking, “What are you smiling at?” Qin Yu twitched her nose and replied, “Hmm, this is a smile of happiness!” Qing Li reached out with his right hand, pinched Qin Yu’s cheek, and then chuckled softly. “What are you laughing at?” Qin Yu asked curiously. “Hmm, I’m just like some little idiot,” Qing Li answered. Qin Yu rolled her eyes and lightly punched Qing Li’s chest, but the force made him groan softly. Hearing that muffled groan, Qin Yu immediately grew worried and anxious, “What’s wrong? Does the wound still hurt? Let me see!” Qing Li caught her hand and smiled mischievously, “It’s hurt in my heart.” “Hurt in your heart? Let me see! How could your heart be hurt? I don’t recall you injuring your chest! Brother Li, and you’re still laughing!” Qin Yu said as she watched Qing Li giggle uncontrollably. “My heart aches because I’ve worn you out, Yu’er. It’s my heart aching for you,” Qing Li said tenderly. Qin Yu breathed a sigh of relief and scolded him with a playful tone, “You’re shameless to say that!” “Hehe, why should I be ashamed? Clearly, you enjoyed it too,” Qing Li said brazenly. Qin Yu snorted coyly at his words, then wriggled free from Qing Li’s arms and sat up, causing the blanket to slip down, revealing an inviting shoulder. The marks left from their tender night were also visible before Qing Li’s eyes. Qing Li’s gaze darkened, and he said gravely, “Yu’er.” Sensing Qing Li’s unusual demeanor and feeling a sudden chill, Qin Yu blushed deeply, quickly wrapped herself in the blanket, and hurried to the wardrobe to dress. Without the blanket, Qing Li lay there unabashedly, carefree, watching Qin Yu’s quick dressing show. Of course, it took less than a minute. Qing Li sighed, slightly regretful—why does Yu’er dress so quickly? He wanted to savor the moment longer. Naturally, Qin Yu’s speed was thanks to the years from her previous life.

After dressing, Qin Yu turned to see Qing Li lying there bare-chested, her cheeks coloring slightly. She tossed the blanket back to him and began selecting his clothes. Handing him the outfit, she said, “I’ll make something to eat. You get dressed first.” “Huh? You’re not going to help me?” Qing Li teased with a charming smile. “I’ll dress myself!” Qin Yu blushed and dashed out immediately. Watching her almost flee, Qing Li laughed heartily and leisurely began dressing. Qin Yu quickly prepared some porridge and brought two bowls into the room. They ate the soft porridge together, the occasional clink of bowls punctuating the quiet, along with Qing Li’s playful teasing of Qin Yu. It was late at night; the moon was veiled by thick clouds. Occasionally, when the clouds drifted away, moonlight spilled onto the earth, casting a faintly sultry glow. After finishing their meal, Qin Yu and Qing Li looked out into the darkness and decided to rest a while longer. Of course, just rest—Qin Yu simply couldn’t endure any more exertion. Qing Li pulled Qin Yu into his arms, feeling her warm, soft body. A faint smile played on his lips as he looked at her peaceful sleep, knowing he had exhausted her. With no other thoughts, he too slipped into slumber. In the room, the two nestled close, wrapped in infinite warmth and bliss. Meanwhile, in the city: Shangguan Fengzi leaned against a pillar, watching the displeased man before him with a helpless expression. Rubbing his forehead, he said, “I say, big brother, what’s going on with you? You look like you’ve lost your mind. Cheer up a bit!” Shi pressed his lips tightly and stared at the zombies jumping below, radiating an aura of deep displeasure. “I say, you’ve been like this for days! If something’s wrong, just tell me. Maybe I can help—I’m quite capable!” Shangguan Fengzi said. Shi shifted his gaze from the zombies to Shangguan Fengzi, pursing his lips, his deep eyes fixed steadily on him. Shangguan Fengzi shuddered under that gaze, scratching the goosebumps rising on his arm, wearing a pleading expression as he said mournfully, “Big brother, please say something! Don’t make me perform a solo here!” Shi still pressed his lips, fidgeting with his fingers. Seeing Shangguan Fengzi’s anxious face, he finally spoke, “I miss her. I want to see her.”

Shangguan Fengzi was stunned, then choked out, “So that’s what’s bothering you! I thought it was something else! Haha, you miss her—but don’t I miss my own ‘him’ too?” Shi glanced at Shangguan Fengzi and said grudgingly, “You can’t see him, but it’s not because of me. But I can’t see her because of you.” Though Shangguan Fengzi acknowledged the truth, he was exasperated by Shi’s bluntness. This guy was really pushing his buttons! But it was all for Yao Yao’s sake. He’d make him compensate later—hehe. Shi seemed oblivious to Shangguan Fengzi’s anger. He no longer looked at him, knowing he couldn’t defeat the man before him. All struggles would be in vain. He was usually clever, except when it came to Tao, so he wouldn’t waste energy on a doomed cause. He turned his gaze toward the city, as if trying to catch a glimpse of Tao’s figure. Shangguan Fengzi, seeing Shi lost in thought again, wore a bored expression. Ah, how dull! Besides Shi and Yin, there were only those ugly zombies around here! Ahhh! Going crazy! Shi just daydreams all day, and Yin was even worse—always hiding in that tiny attic. No idea what’s so great about that place. Really, after all this time together, Yin still wouldn’t reveal her past. Hmph! I’ve told her mine! Ah! So boring! Wait, I could go find Qin Yu and ask her about Yao Yao’s soul issue. Yes! No hesitation—this is Shangguan Fengzi’s usual rule. After one last glance at Shi, Shangguan Fengzi turned and vanished. Shi noticed his departure but expressionlessly continued staring in that direction, lost in thought. Meanwhile, Shangguan Fengzi arrived beside Yin in the attic and slowly drifted into sleep, setting out to find Qin Yu. Yin barely acknowledged his arrival, only twitching an ear before remaining motionless. At that moment, Shangguan Fengzi had already constructed a vision to guide Qin Yu’s arrival. Yet this time, something seemed different.
