Qin Yu and her companions soon returned to their temporary dwelling. After a brief discussion, they decided to check whether Chen Yang and the others had left anything behind in the house. Thus, a small team consisting of Xia Cheng, Zhao Meng, and Nangong Yao set out on a scavenging mission.

Meanwhile, Qin Yu and Tao remained behind, sorting through the belongings left for Tao by that person. Qin Yu took out a portion of the items she had just stored in her space and said to Tao, "These are just a few, one of each type. See if there's anything you need."

Tao glanced at the items laid out in the room and shook her head. "No need. You can keep them."

Qin Yu nodded and put the items away, waiting for Zhao Meng and the others to return.

About an hour later, Zhao Meng and her team returned, lugging a large bag. Qin Yu raised an eyebrow at Xia Cheng.

Xia Cheng, carrying the bag, explained, "Just some forgotten things. Xiao Meng thought they might be useful, so we brought them back."

Qin Yu nodded and said nothing more.

After a short discussion, they decided to leave the small town and continue with the mission they had originally accepted, hoping to encounter a second-tier zombie and obtain a crystal core.

Nangong Yao, however, seemed uninterested in everything, keeping his head down in silence, lost in his own thoughts.

The group packed up quickly, ate a little, and left Kaiyuan Town behind.

Qin Yu had intended to give everyone some practice, but—

"Wind Blade!"

"Seal, go!"

"Level the world!"

Watching a certain someone wreak havoc with such delight, Qin Yu regretted taking him in! His destructive power was truly overwhelming! No one else had a chance to act!

Zhao Meng, frustrated, rubbed her hands, still feeling the remnants of a fireball. But Xiao Yao didn't give her a single chance to use her abilities!

She hadn't practiced her powers in so long—how vexing! Still, Xiao Yao was truly impressive—tears of mixed admiration and frustration welled up.

Xia Cheng patted Zhao Meng's back in consolation, his helpless smile plain to see. As for Tao, she remained true to her silent nature, barely uttering a word along the way.

As for our main character? He felt that these were all hideous creatures! None suited his aesthetic! Destroy them all! Level everything! Hmph!

And so, with Nangong Yao cutting a path of devastation, the others contented themselves with occasionally collecting crystal cores and mostly standing by, watching Xiao Yao show off his beauty.

Qin Yu wanted to shout: "Great Immortal, where is your elegance? Where is your grace? Is it truly good to be so narcissistic? Really?"

Of course, Qin Yu was the kind of extraordinary woman who could be internally howling with frustration while maintaining a gentle smile on the surface. Thus, no one noticed her inner turmoil.

After about a week, all the zombies within several miles had been wiped out by Nangong Yao; not even a single mutant animal remained. Yet, this only gave Qin Yu and the others a deeper appreciation for Nangong Yao’s power.

He had fought so fiercely for a week without showing the slightest fatigue—clearly, he was far stronger than they had imagined.

That night, the group found lodging in a small village. Qin Yu recalled she hadn’t checked her space in a long time and wondered how that half-dead man was faring, along with Little Hun, Little Red, and Little Green.

With this in mind, Qin Yu slipped into her space while the others slept.

Inside, the man still lay where she had left him. If not for the faint sound of breathing, Qin Yu would have thought him dead.

Little Hun sensed her arrival immediately, bouncing out from behind the man’s head—yes, bouncing!

Watching the little flower hop about, Qin Yu’s lips twitched. Little Hun, weren’t you just a flower? How could you possibly bounce like that?

Oblivious to Qin Yu’s thoughts, Little Hun quickly hopped to her feet, nuzzled her pant leg, and began to sway its small body.

Qin Yu crouched down and poked Little Hun, laughing. "So happy to see me?"

Feeling her poking, Little Hun swayed even more energetically.

And so, the two of them entertained themselves with a game of poke and sway.

Until Little Red, who appeared from who knows where, remarked haughtily, "Master, this is the first time I’ve seen you act so childish."

Qin Yu looked up, startled by Little Red’s use of "Master," then smiled. "Isn’t it nice to relax once in a while?"

Little Red rolled her eyes, mischief in her tone. "Master, do you really think that little flower is playing with you?"

Qin Yu raised an eyebrow. "Isn’t it?"

Little Red flopped down, swishing her tail. "That flower is not so simple. Don’t you want to know why it appeared here?"

Qin Yu regarded the little flower with a forced smile. "Oh? Why is that?"

Little Red, sensing the eerie aura emanating from Qin Yu, quickly padded over and rubbed against her leg, then grinned. "How about ten shiny stones for the answer?"

Qin Yu’s smile deepened as she stroked Little Red’s tail. "One."

Little Red bristled instantly, jumped in front of Qin Yu, and stared at her. Seeing Qin Yu’s narrowed eyes fixed on her, a sense of foreboding crept in.

She hurriedly returned to Qin Yu’s side, rubbing against her vigorously. "Fine, one it is, stingy Master! Hmph!"

Qin Yu picked up Little Red and patted her. "Spit it out!"

Little Red glanced at the still-swaying Little Hun, licked her paw, and spoke slowly. "Actually, I’m not sure why it appeared here, but it probably has to do with your blood. Given how it’s acting now, it likely wants your blood. I think your blood is its food."

Blood? Qin Yu recalled that last time, after being scratched by Little Red and bleeding, Little Hun had appeared at her wounded hand when she awoke. Could it really be because of her blood?

With this thought, Qin Yu took out a dagger, cut her finger, and held it out to Little Hun.

Sensing something, Little Hun immediately devoured the blood from her finger. After about ten drops, its red flower glowed, and Qin Yu was amazed to find her wounded finger completely healed.

Watching Little Hun sway drunkenly, Qin Yu thought it looked like a tipsy drunkard. She stroked its petals and found them smoother and slightly larger than before.

So it truly did feed on her blood—fortunately, it only needed a few drops at a time. If it needed more, she wouldn’t be able to bear it.

Little Red witnessed this and a resolute glint flashed in her eyes, unnoticed by Qin Yu.

Qin Yu continued chatting with Little Red and Little Hun in the space, unaware that outside, Nangong Yao sat alone in the empty room, lost in thought.
