You smell so wonderful.
Qin You smiled, “Waiting outside doesn’t take much effort, it’s nothing, Ranran. I’m happy to wait for you.” After saying this, he realized that when he spoke these sweet words to Xia Anran now, his heart felt nothing at all.
Ever since he learned Xia Anran’s true nature, his feelings for her had faded considerably. Or perhaps, from the very beginning, he never truly cared for her; it was only the allure of the Xia family behind her that made Qin You choose to be with her. Now, as time passed, even that fleeting excitement had vanished.
Xia Anran still believed she was all Qin You thought about. She happily threw herself into his arms, “Brother Qin, I’m just worried about you. Listen to me—next time, just wait for me in the car. I’ll jump right in, and then we can go home together!” Qin You patted her head and smiled, agreeing softly.
That silhouette earlier really resembled Wen Shuang.
On the way home, Qin You noticed Xia Anran was much quieter tonight than usual, so he casually asked what was wrong. Xia Anran immediately let out a couple of delicate snorts, complaining, “Someone stole my ballet performance when I came back, and today they humiliated me in public! I’m so furious!” She pouted, looking adorably angry as always.
But now, knowing Xia Anran’s true character, Qin You felt that ‘adorable’ no longer had anything to do with her. He pretended to be angry, “Who could be so vile! I’ll make them pay!”
Xia Anran would never let him meet Wen Shuang again. She feigned good temper, “Forget it, I just got back and don’t want to cause any trouble. Hmph, I’m magnanimous, I won’t stoop to her level!”
Qin You smiled faintly, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. “My Ranran is so kind.”
Xia Anran was so pleased she clung to him even more.
...
Ji Shen finished work and found Yu Tian waiting outside the police station.
“What’s up, did you get in trouble?”
“No way! I’m here just to wait for Officer Ji to get off work!” Ji Shen and Yu Tian found a nearby restaurant and sat down.
Yu Tian handed over a business card, “So, there’s a prominent Chinese businessman searching for his biological daughter. I was hoping you could help investigate when you have time.”
Ji Shen took the card and was surprised to see the name Bo Yue.
A renowned tycoon on Wall Street in the United States!
Ji Shen remembered that Bo Yue had never married. How could he suddenly be searching for a biological daughter?
Yu Tian explained, “He really hasn’t married for years, but you know... Bo Yue had a relationship with Aunt Jiang when he was young. They had a daughter, but Aunt Jiang left right after giving birth, and the baby was switched. Bo Yue only discovered this year that the girl he raised isn’t his biological child, so now he’s making a big effort to find his real daughter!”
Ji Shen’s gaze flickered at the mention of Aunt Jiang.
“How old is she, any distinguishing features?”
“His daughter was swapped at birth and has been missing ever since. If she’s grown up, she should be twenty-two now. But he’s funny—after all these years, he has no evidence, not even a description. Isn’t this like searching for a needle in a haystack?”
Ji Shen frowned, “That’s way too vague! Without even DNA testing, there’s no way to find her.”
Yu Tian said, “He hasn’t told me much more yet. Next time, I’ll introduce you to him so he can explain everything to Officer Ji in detail.”
After dinner, Yu Tian invited Ji Shen to join them for drinks that evening, saying Ji Shen hadn’t had any nightlife with them in ages. Ji Shen declined, saying he had to go home.
“Oh, Shen, are you in such a hurry to go home for your little rose?”
Ji Shen didn’t deny it.
He guessed Wen Shuang must be home by now, waiting for him anxiously.
Yu Tian joked, “You never used to rush home like this. Have you finally indulged lately?”
Ji Shen’s eyes darkened, “Don’t pry!”
But it was true—Wen Shuang’s allure was impossible to escape. Even after more than twenty days together, Ji Shen felt not bored, but increasingly addicted.
On the way back, he saw blue roses blooming perfectly in a roadside flower shop.
He brought a large bouquet home.
Wen Shuang had just finished her bath and came out, “Wow, roses~”
“I passed by after work and thought you’d like them,” Ji Shen handed the flowers to her.
She was genuinely delighted. Even a simple bouquet showed the man’s thoughtfulness and care.
Wen Shuang took the flowers, snapped several photos from all angles, then fetched a vase and arranged them one by one.
She wore a lotus pink camisole nightdress, ribbons crisscrossing her back, highlighting her exquisite figure and seductive charm.
Ji Shen wrapped his arms around her from behind, intoxicated by the scent of her hair, “So fragrant!”
Wen Shuang pushed him away playfully, “You smell awful, go shower!”
“So, after I shower, can we...?”
“Oh, hurry up!” He returned home every day, his mind filled with nothing but this.
“Shuangshuang, don’t pretend otherwise.” Ji Shen pinched her firm peach-shaped bottom, “You dressed like this tonight just to tempt me, didn’t you? You want it too, right?”
Wen Shuang’s face flushed as she shoved him into the bathroom!
To be honest, being intimate with Ji Shen gave her an unprecedented sense of pleasure. Apparently, a man with skill could make it feel this incredible!
She arranged the colorful roses, savoring the subtle gestures that showed someone cared for her. Her eyes sparkled with unconcealed joy.
Ji Shen took a quick five-minute shower, then stripped Wen Shuang bare and pressed her onto the bed, raining down stormy kisses.
Wen Shuang remembered something and pulled a ticket from beneath her pillow, “Next Friday, my ballet ‘Wang Zhaojun’s Journey Beyond the Frontier’ will be performed. Officer Ji, would you do me the honor?”
Ji Shen agreed without hesitation.
“Shuangshuang’s ballet—whether you invite me or not, I’ll be there.”
He’d missed the first two performances because of work.
Soon, the two became passionate on the bed. Ji Shen was exceptionally gifted in this regard, recently learning many new positions, making Wen Shuang insatiable.
The bed wasn’t enough; he dragged her to the living room’s floor-to-ceiling window.
Wen Shuang responded fervently, their bodies and souls entwined in a desperate embrace.
...
Suddenly.
In the middle of the night, Ji Shen’s work phone rang!
He jolted, thrusting harder, the phone ringing more urgently.
He rarely cursed, but now he did, climbing off Wen Shuang and answering the call.
Five minutes later.
Ji Shen quickly threw on his clothes, “There’s a case in a neighboring city, I’ll be away on a business trip for a few days.”
Wen Shuang was stunned, “Leaving right now?”
Ji Shen packed everything in six minutes—like a special forces soldier.
“Sorry I couldn’t give you the ultimate experience tonight.” Before leaving, he kissed her deeply on the forehead, “Rest well, take care of yourself. When I return, I’ll make up for everything you missed today—twice over!”
