Chapter 24 Tearing Your Mouth to Shreds
Murong Yun pinched Murong Wan’er’s cheek lightly.
“I was just teasing you. Look how nervous you got. I have nothing but respect for Mr. Lin.”
“How can I not be nervous? If you liked him, I wouldn’t stand a chance,” Murong Wan’er replied.
“You, keep trying! With his excellence, there are plenty who admire him,” Murong Yun reminded her.
“Don’t worry, sister, I’ll do my best.”
Murong Yun and Murong Wan’er walked toward Parking Lot No. 2.
Meanwhile, Lin Yang headed to Parking Lot No. 1. Suddenly, a car sped toward him from behind, aiming straight at him.
Sensing danger, Lin Yang leapt into the air, performed a somersault, and landed steadily atop a nearby car.
The black SUV that had tried to hit him screeched to a halt. The door swung open, and Qi Tianming, limping, jumped out.
“You bastard, I knew you’d be here!” Qi Tianming shouted, murderous intent blazing in his eyes.
“Watch your mouth, or your father will slap it raw in a moment,” Lin Yang said calmly.
“I’m your father! Soon you’ll be kneeling, calling me father, begging for your life!” Qi Tianming roared.
Lin Yang merely shook his head. Another man stepped out of the black SUV—a martial artist of the eighth rank, Deng Jinkui, whom Qi Tianming had brought along.
Though Luocheng boasted only four innate grandmasters, there were plenty of postnatal fighters. With Qi family connections, it was no surprise he could summon an eighth-rank expert for support.
“Mr. Deng, this bastard is the one who injured me. First, break both his legs and make him kneel and call me father,” Qi Tianming ordered.
“A trivial matter. Within five moves, I’ll cripple his legs,” Deng Jinkui replied with a sinister grin, his fists crackling as he advanced on Lin Yang with the speed of a hurricane.
Lin Yang held a medicine box in one hand, responding single-handedly with ease and confidence.
“You dare face me with one hand? You’re courting death!” Deng Jinkui felt insulted and unleashed a fierce barrage of punches and kicks, each move vicious. He had struck more than ten times rapidly.
“Didn’t you say you’d break my legs within five moves? Now it’s been fifteen. Does your face hurt?” Lin Yang countered, forcing Deng Jinkui back with a single palm strike, standing with his hands behind his back.
Deng Jinkui’s arm tingled with numbness; though Lin Yang’s palm seemed ordinary, its force was tremendous—nearly the strength of two tigers.
Deng Jinkui’s expression turned grave as he shook out his arms.
“You can strike with the force of a tiger. No wonder Qi Tianming is no match for you.”
---
“He’s not my match, and neither are you,” Lin Yang said coolly.
“Who are you, really? An expert of your age in Luocheng is no nameless figure,” Deng Jinkui questioned.
“If you want to fight, then fight. Enough talking,” Lin Yang retorted bluntly.
“Mr. Deng, take him down and I’ll reward you handsomely!” Qi Tianming called loudly.
The stronger Lin Yang appeared, the more unsettled Qi Tianming felt.
Deng Jinkui readied himself again, veins bulging on his arms like twisted roots, preparing to showcase his skills.
“Stop!”
Just then, Qi Yixin arrived at the parking lot and, seeing the scene unfolding, hurriedly shouted to stop.
“Dad!”
Qi Tianming saw Qi Yixin striding over and limped forward to greet him, eager for his father to witness his injuries.
“Dad…”
Smack!
Qi Yixin raised his hand and slapped Qi Tianming hard across the face, cutting off any words or complaints.
“Huh?”
Deng Jinkui was dumbfounded.
“Dad, what are you doing? Why hit me?”
Qi Tianming clutched his face, equally stunned.
“You fool, of course I hit you,” Qi Yixin said, grabbing Qi Tianming’s collar and dragging him before Lin Yang.
“Kneel!”
“Dad, are you crazy?” Qi Tianming protested angrily.
Smack!
Another heavy slap sent Qi Tianming spinning, blood streaming from his mouth and nose.
“When I tell you to kneel, you kneel!” Qi Yixin roared in fury.
Stars danced before Qi Tianming’s eyes as he knelt, enduring the pain.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Lin. My son is ignorant and reckless. Please forgive him this once; I promise to discipline him strictly from now on,” Qi Yixin apologized, kicking Qi Tianming and scolding, “What are you waiting for? Apologize to Mr. Lin!”
Qi Tianming wasn’t stupid. If even his father was so fearful of Lin Yang, it was clear Lin Yang was someone he absolutely couldn’t afford to provoke.
---
“Mr. Lin, I… I’m sorry. I was wrong. Please, be merciful and spare me,” Qi Tianming pleaded.
Deng Jinkui, beside him, was mortified, instantly realizing the young man before him was someone of great stature—someone even Qi Yixin dared not offend.
If Qi Yixin couldn’t face him, how could he?
Damn it, had he just gotten himself into trouble? Should he apologize too? But he was an eighth-rank expert—his pride wouldn’t let him!
Deng Jinkui’s expression shifted rapidly, his mind in chaos.
“I told you your father would slap your face, but you didn’t believe me. Does it hurt?” Lin Yang said quietly.
“It hurts… no, it doesn’t! I failed to recognize your greatness, brought this on myself. Please, Mr. Lin, give me a chance to change,” Qi Tianming said in terror.
Lin Yang had no intention of pursuing the matter further and asked Deng Jinkui, “Do you still want to fight?”
Deng Jinkui’s heart skipped a beat; there was no escaping now.
“N-no, I don’t. I was only following orders, meant no offense. Your skills are extraordinary—I admit defeat,” Deng Jinkui said, quickly shifting blame to Qi Tianming and wisely conceding.
Lin Yang smiled faintly and said to Qi Yixin, “I’ll be going now. Your son is yours to discipline at home.”
“Thank you, Mr. Lin,” Qi Yixin replied in relief. He had truly feared that Lin Yang might seek vengeance and take his son's life, and he would have been powerless to stop it.
Only after Lin Yang left did Qi Tianming dare to stand up slowly.
Seeing Lin Yang gone, Deng Jinkui also breathed a sigh of relief and bowed to Qi Yixin. “Master Qi, I’ll take my leave.”
“Don’t call me ‘Master Qi’ anymore. If I hadn’t arrived in time today, you and my son might not have survived. Mr. Deng, that man—you and I both cannot afford to offend him.”
“Thank you for the warning, Elder Qi. Farewell,” Deng Jinkui replied, feeling a chill down his spine, utterly convinced of Qi Yixin’s sincerity—after all, he had no reason to lie.
Moreover, Deng Jinkui had witnessed everything with his own eyes.
“Dad, who is he? Why are you so afraid of him?” Qi Tianming couldn’t help but ask.
“Get in the car, I’ll explain slowly. You’re lucky to have escaped with your life today,” Qi Yixin replied.
Qi Tianming shivered in fear, feeling a lingering dread.
Lin Yang drove home, immediately began sorting the medicinal herbs he had purchased, and prepared for a medicinal bath.
Though he had now stepped into the realm of innate true mastery, his strength was still far from sufficient; improving his abilities remained his top priority.
