The Liu Chengzhi family entered the banquet hall, while Lin Yang headed off to the side. He had no invitation, and those without invitations did not use the main entrance; instead, they entered through the rear door, which led directly to the VIP lounge behind the banquet hall.

Murong Wan'er had been waiting outside the VIP lounge for quite some time. When she saw Lin Yang, her face lit up with joy.

"Mr. Lin, please come in."

Lin Yang entered the lounge. Besides Murong Zhang and Murong Yun, there was another middle-aged man inside, whose features bore a striking resemblance to Murong Zhang.

He was Murong Zhang's eldest son, Murong Ze, currently serving as the Director of the Health Bureau of Nandu Province.

"Brother, let me introduce you. This is Mr. Lin Yang. Not only is he highly skilled, his medical expertise is truly extraordinary."

Murong Yun stood up to make the introduction, turning to Lin Yang: "Mr. Lin, this is my elder brother, Murong Ze."

Murong Ze glanced at Lin Yang. As a man of status, he carried his own sense of dignity and authority. His attitude toward Lin Yang was noticeably less respectful than that of the rest of the Murong family.

"I heard about yesterday's events. You seem quite accomplished for your age—not bad."

Murong Ze did not rise, maintaining his official demeanor.

"You flatter me," Lin Yang replied, neither humble nor arrogant, his tone calm.

Murong Yun leaned in and whispered, "My brother has always been like this, carrying himself with a certain air. After years in officialdom, it's only natural. Please don't take it to heart."

Lin Yang nodded lightly, walked over to sit down, and took out a folded piece of paper.

"Master Murong, congratulations on your birthday. This is the gift I have prepared for you."

"A plain sheet of paper as a gift? You certainly seem sincere," Murong Ze remarked, sipping his tea and crossing his legs.

"Ze! If you can't keep quiet, no one will mistake you for a mute," Murong Zhang scolded, then turned to Lin Yang. "Mr. Lin's presence at my birthday banquet is the greatest honor for me, no need for gifts."

"Besides, when invitations were sent out this year, all guests were informed that gifts would be declined."

Murong Ze said no more. Lin Yang spoke, "You may open it and see. I believe you will appreciate this gift."

"Very well! Then I shall accept with gratitude," Murong Zhang said, unfolding the paper to find a prescription written by Lin Yang.

"Mr. Lin, is this a prescription? What illness does it treat? Is there some serious disease in my health?" Murong Zhang asked nervously.

"No need to worry. This prescription is called the Longevity Formula. Follow the directions, prepare the medicine as pills, and you will have Longevity Pills. After taking them for some time, your muscles and bones will be strengthened, illness will hardly touch you, and living to a hundred will be quite easy," Lin Yang replied.

Upon hearing this explanation, Murong Zhang was overjoyed, as if he had received a rare treasure. He hurriedly put away the prescription, fearing Lin Yang might change his mind and take it back.

"This is indeed a grand gift. I won't refuse it," he said.

"Father, the prescription should be verified first. After making the pills, we should find someone to try them and observe their effects. Or I could bring it to the province and consult some experts. We can't take folk prescriptions at face value," Murong Ze, as the Director of the Health Bureau, oversaw all medical affairs in Nandu. He had not witnessed Lin Yang's skills himself and found all the claims rather exaggerated.

Could such miraculous medical skill even exist?

Murong Ze simply did not believe a young man could possess such extraordinary abilities.

"Brother, that's unnecessary. Mr. Lin's prescription is perfectly safe. Moreover, its true value is immeasurable. If we mass-produce the Longevity Pills and launch them on the market, they will surely become the hottest miracle cure," Murong Yun, ever the queen of business, immediately recognized the real worth of the prescription.

"Murong Ze, if you can't speak properly, then keep your mouth shut—or just hurry back to Nanling," Murong Zhang said, his face darkening.

"Father, I am the Director of the Health Bureau. I know medicine better than you. All drugs require clinical testing before they can be used. That's the regulation," Murong Ze insisted.

"Your so-called regulations don't apply here. As the Director, you don't control me! I trust Mr. Lin," Murong Zhang said angrily, worried that Murong Ze's attitude might offend Lin Yang.

Lin Yang sipped his tea, smiling silently.

"Brother, say less, don't upset Father," Murong Yun kept signaling to Murong Ze.

Murong Ze finally turned away and fell silent.

"Mr. Lin, I wonder if you mind the idea I mentioned earlier?" Murong Yun asked.

"Once the prescription is given to the master, it belongs to you. How you use it, or whether you use it at all, is entirely your choice," Lin Yang replied, setting down his teacup.

Just then, Murong Yun's secretary knocked and entered. "President Yun, Director Cao has arrived."

"Director Cao has been discharged?"

Murong Yun had not expected Cao Keming to come; officials usually avoided such occasions and refrained from attending birthday banquets.

Moreover, Cao Keming had suffered severe poisoning. Although Lin Yang had detoxified him, it seemed unlikely he would recover so quickly.

"Yes!" the secretary confirmed.

"I'll go greet him," Murong Yun said to Lin Yang, then went out to welcome Cao Keming personally.

Murong Zhang said, "Yun'er told me Director Cao was gravely poisoned. The specialists at the City First Hospital, even Qi Yixin, were helpless. It was only Mr. Lin who managed to detoxify him and save his life. I never thought he could be discharged so soon."

"It was nothing," Lin Yang replied.

"Father, you have no idea how dangerous it was. That phosphorus frost poison—I had never even heard of it. Fortunately, Mr. Lin's medical skills are truly divine!" Murong Wan'er recounted the events of Cao Keming's treatment in vivid detail.

Murong Zhang had already heard the story, but Murong Wan'er was clearly speaking for another purpose—she wanted Murong Ze to understand just how exceptional Lin Yang's medical skills were.

Murong Ze, though silent, was clearly listening. He took out his phone and sent his secretary a message, instructing him to quickly find out what phosphorus frost poison was.

Soon, Murong Yun returned, bringing Cao Keming and his family into the lounge.

Cao Keming was a Director, while Murong Ze was a Bureau Chief. In rank, the Director outranked the Bureau Chief by one level, but as Murong Ze was the head of the provincial Health Bureau, his actual status was on par with Cao Keming.

Normally, Cao Keming would either first congratulate Murong Zhang on his birthday or greet Murong Ze.

But he did neither. Instead, he strode excitedly toward Lin Yang.

"Divine Doctor Lin, you are indeed here! Thank you for saving my life," Cao Keming said, bowing to Lin Yang.

Murong Ze, watching from the side, was greatly surprised. He had worked with Cao Keming and knew the man to be principled and unyielding, a person of strong character. Yet here he was, showing such respect to a young man.

Could it be that this youth truly possessed miraculous medical skills?

Just then, Murong Ze's phone vibrated, and he received a message from his secretary.
