"Xiao Liang, I have no objection to you seeking revenge. But Lin Yang has become quite capable now, and I’m afraid you’re no match for him. If he hurts you again, it simply won’t be worth the risk."

Yu Ping’s concern was evident; she feared her golden son-in-law, Liang Kuan, might come to any harm.

"You’re like fine porcelain, while Lin Yang is nothing more than clay and straw. No matter how you collide, it’s you who will suffer."

"I’m not foolish enough to compete physically with a brute. I have wealth and influence. To deal with him, I don’t even need to lift a finger."

"My father has personally arranged for an eighth-rank master. Once he arrives, I’ll make Lin Yang kneel before me, begging for mercy, and trample him into the ground to humiliate him thoroughly."

Liang Kuan spoke with an air of arrogant superiority.

"That’s good. Last time, I was careless and our fifth-rank expert, whom we always relied on, was gravely injured, causing us a huge loss."

"This time, with an eighth-rank master personally taking action, I want to see what tricks this little bastard still has left."

Yu Ping ground her teeth as she spoke.

"Every time I think of his ever-calm, contemptuous demeanor, I can’t help but rage! He’s just a pretty boy kept by others; what does he have to be so proud of? What gives him the right to be so arrogant before us?"

Liu Fuyu, too, nursed a grudge against Lin Yang.

Her resentment stemmed from all their recent encounters since Lin Yang’s two-year disappearance. Not once had she managed to take advantage or gain the upper hand; instead, she’d been repeatedly humiliated.

This made Liu Fuyu indignant. She was determined to regain her dignity before Lin Yang and severely humiliate him to vent her anger.

"Today isn’t just about avenging myself. It’s also for you. Just wait and watch the show. I promise you, he’ll be on his knees, begging for forgiveness."

Liang Kuan laughed heartily.

"Best if we can cut off his future, force him out of Luo City, and make sure he never appears before us again."

Liu Fuyu added.

"A trivial matter. However you wish to deal with him, we’ll do it that way."

Liang Kuan replied with utter confidence.

At that moment, Liang Kuan received a call from his father’s secretary.

"Young Master, Mr. Deng and I have arrived at Imperial Court Garden."

"Excellent. Head straight to Villa Eighteen and we’ll meet there."

Liang Kuan’s face lit up; he hung up and stood.

"Let’s go. Mr. Deng has arrived—the show is about to begin."

Liu Fuyu took Liang Kuan’s arm as they left, settling into his sports car.

Meanwhile, Yu Ping drove her own car to Villa Eighteen.

The Imperial Court Garden estate spanned nearly a thousand acres, yet contained only a few dozen villas, each well separated—one had to drive just to visit a neighbor.

Liang Kuan and his companions arrived first, stopping outside Villa Eighteen.

"It’s been more than two years since I last came to this side of the estate," Yu Ping remarked casually.

Back when the Lin and Liu families were close, they would often visit each other, but now Lin Haoxuan and his wife had long since become nothing more than bones, and whatever old affection Yu Ping once held for the Lin and Liu families had faded.

A black sedan approached. Liang Jian’s secretary emerged first, followed by a middle-aged man in the back seat—none other than Deng Jinkui, the eighth-rank master previously summoned by Qi Tianming to take revenge on Lin Yang.

Deng Jinkui was a prominent figure in Luo City. There were few eighth-rank experts and even fewer ninth-rank masters in the city; most hailed from the three great masters, apart from Luo Hongyu.

Deng Jinkui was an exception. He had come to Luo City several years prior, forged a reputation, and operated independently, attached to no one.

"Mr. Deng, thank you for coming," Liang Kuan hurried over, standing respectfully by the car, not daring to show the slightest disrespect.

Even his father treated eighth-rank experts with courtesy, and to persuade Deng Jinkui to act on their behalf was only possible because Liang Jian was a director of the Wanhao Chamber, giving him enough face. Otherwise, money alone wouldn’t have sufficed.

Deng Jinkui did not get out of the car immediately. He nodded slightly and asked, "Is the man you want to deal with living here?"

"Yes," Liang Kuan answered.

"Do you want him dead or alive?" Deng Jinkui asked.

"Half-dead is enough. Leave the rest to me, lest you dirty your hands," Liang Kuan replied.

Deng Jinkui was pleased with his attitude and smiled. "At least you’re sensible."

Yu Ping and Liu Fuyu stood silently to the side, both somewhat intimidated by the presence of an eighth-rank master.

"I know it’s beneath you to handle such a small fry, but he’s been excessively arrogant..."

Deng Jinkui raised his hand slightly. "Enough. Once this matter is settled, tell your father I’ve repaid his favor and shown him sufficient respect. In the future, do not trouble me with such trivialities."

"Of course, of course," Liang Kuan nodded hastily.

"Go knock," Deng Jinkui gestured.

With an eighth-rank master backing him, Liang Kuan stood tall, brimming with confidence. Liu Fuyu also held her head high, clinging to Liang Kuan’s arm as they strode into the garden, Yu Ping following closely behind.

Reaching Lin Yang’s garden, Liang Kuan cleared his throat and shouted, "You little bastard Lin, get out here and face your death!"

Inside, Shen Limin heard the arrogant shouting and wheeled himself out.

"Who’s out here bellowing obscenities?"

Shen Limin didn’t recognize Liang Kuan, but he did know Yu Ping and Liu Fuyu.

"Director Yu, Miss Liu, why are you here?"

"You cripple, what are you doing here? Where’s Lin Yang? Bring him out!" Liu Fuyu glanced at Shen Limin with undisguised contempt.

Shen Limin knew about Lin Yang and Liu Fuyu breaking off their engagement, but the details eluded him.

Now, seeing Liu Fuyu—who once respectfully called him Uncle Shen—wear such an expression, he understood everything.

"The young master is resting upstairs. What business do you have with him?" Shen Limin asked.

"None of your concern, you cripple. Go call him out," Liu Fuyu ordered.

"Who would have thought Lin Yang would bring a cripple like you here, just to keep driving for him? I doubt you even have the ability to drive now," Yu Ping mocked.

"And you still call him young master. You really think he’s still the Lin family heir? Still hoping to curry favor?"

"I remember you have a daughter who used to shamelessly follow Lin Yang around, trying to compete with my daughter for the position of Lin family’s daughter-in-law. Don’t think I’m unaware."

"A servant’s daughter dreaming of becoming a phoenix?"

Yu Ping’s words were sharp and spiteful, making Shen Limin’s face flush with anger.

"Don’t slander us! Our family has always behaved appropriately and never overstepped. We have a clear conscience."

"None of that matters! Now your daughter and Lin Yang are a perfect match: a servant’s daughter and a kept pretty boy—a well-suited pair."

Yu Ping continued her mockery.

"Shen Youwei, that ugly duckling, isn’t even fit to carry my shoes. Lin Yang is beneath me now. If your daughter likes this kind of trash, she’s welcome to him—provided Lin Yang survives today," Liu Fuyu sneered.

She had never seen Shen Youwei as a threat, but back then, with Lin Yang’s protection, she hadn’t dared bully her.
